Candlelight Sunday Supper

03/05/2009

Okay this is not the prom post, this was Sunday Supper, the last one of the academic year and the supposedly special one cos there was a CANDELIGHT ceremony at the end. But then again, the last Sunday Supper was.. well, a bit dry except for certain performances, and so not as many people showed up this time. The only reason was probably for the free food.page_41

VOILA. Looks UBER posh from here aye! Ahahaha. page_21

Reception, waiting to go in. I love Ihouse because it looks like a huge old castle and so when we have functions everything just looks rustic and amazing. HOHO.

Stil waiting to go in. We have all perfected our ACTION PHOTO faces. We’ve been practicing. page_51

Some more than others, evidently. Ahahahaha. Anyway I think Jackie looks so SOPHISTICATED in the first photo. I am an Awesome photographer.

This was actually towards the end when we sneaked off from our various tables (they assign us randomly) and convened at the table at the back. Rafi brought his ECONOMICS TEXTBOOK to study hahahaha.

CANDELIGHT CEREMONY!! It was this whole pass the light make a difference in wherever from the world you come from thing. And the director of Ihouse gave a loooong speech about it.. I videoed most of it, and half of it has Shamil Jackie Cecilie and Raphael waving their candles about.

OOOOH CANDLES. And Cecilie trying to be the Norwegian Statue of Liberty.

PASS IT ON PASS IT ON. I kept telling Jackie WE NEED TO SING THE PASS IT ON SONGGGG!!!! No one seems to know it here. Sigh.page_2

DOESNT IT LOOK LIKE A CASTLE. It was a realllly pretty sight though, with everyone holding candles and stuff. Aww.

The candlelight part of the night was probably the most fun. Sarah and Jackie made me steal a whole wine bottle from another table for their consumption, and after one too many glasses of white/red wine, there was much commotion at the table. I have a really funny video but it will potentially ruin images forever.

All I can say is, the running backforth dialogue went something like this.

YOU HAD 7 GLASSES OF WINE/I AM A FIREMAN/AND THE NUMBER ONE RULE IS NEVER LET DRUNK PEOPLE PLAY WITH FIRE/YOU ARE A FIRE HAZARD/STOP BLOWING OUT MY CANDLE/*INSERT SINGING OF CANDLE IN THE WIND*/HELLLOOOOOO DEBORAHHHH STOP VIDEOINGGGGGG

I shall leave it as that.

But this video I must put up. It is a tribute, from the 3 Singaporeans in the Ihouse (there are a total of 4, but the last guy is this PHD dude who is doing research on the BLACK HOLE mytian) – a tribute to our island city, and our act of patrotism to where we come from. MAJULAH SINGAPURA.

The camera ran out of memory space at the end so there is no proper finishing and ends very unglamly with half of MAJULAH. Sorry about that.

AND WITH THAT, I end this post. Oh and this very nice picture of us all.
