In other news, SCHOOLS! OUT! FOR-EVER! Okay, not really. But at least for this semester, for this YEAR! THE YEAR OF 2009. Which is rapidly ending. And I am so looking forward to it.. not to its ending, but just the things that are going to unfold in the next few months :)
But before that, I need to get through the next 2 weeks of exam prep and final week of exams.

After the recent episode of Gossip girl, I have given up on it totally as a credible show. (-MAJORSPOILERAHEAD-) Lizzy Mcguire initiating a THREESOME with DAN AND VANESSA?? Yea ok, we get it, that was probably the ace of spades to salvage the dying storyline and characters-which-have-reached-the-limit-of-development. ZOMG. Not only did it leave me horrified and traumatized for life (IT IS LIZZY MCGUIRE CAN I JUST REPEAT THIS), but I’m just like, ugh. Grossed. Out.

Ok back to the main point of this post – therefore GG will now serve as no longer a drama series but a runaway show for me :)
With that, I am in love with all the one-shoulder dresses that Blake Lively/Serena has been sporting, especially this season! There are MORE that I remember her wearing, but these are the only images that I could find.

The highlight of my weekend has just passed, lunch with Gid & Jon at XLB and indulgent desserts at Swensens after. Yeah, now get back to work.

I apologize for my incessant whining and complaining about work, I know that everyone probably has heaps more and some are even in the midst of exams now (JIAYOU! I’m praying for you!) – so I should just suck it up and be grateful that I’m not dead.

She hosted my cousins wedding!!!!!! GAAAH *DIES*. She wasn’t hired or anything, oh ok context – my cousin is actually a DJ so they’re friends. BOOYA.
This gushing might come across pretty stupid esp to my family (=brothersandfather) because in the car on the way to the dinner, the conversation went down like this.
Me: ZOMG Hanhan jie said Rozz is hosting her wedding!! SO EXCITE.
Brothers & father: Who is Rozz?
Me: WHAT!! THE DJ WITH THE STAR TATTOO SHES RLY COOL
Brothers & father: Who is that..
Gid: Oh is she the one in the show with Xiaxue.
Me: -.- Yes.
MORE PHOTOS EVIDENCE OF ROZZ and random 93.3fm guy and at the end, I think that was the DJ/radio station people table! Actually I just wanted to get a photo of her star tats. Hahaha mission accomplished! K now on the wedding proper. Sry about that.

Hanhan jie’s wedding dinner = THE BEST I’VE ATTENDED.
Good menu? check. Good location? check. Good crowd? (WE SPOTTED JACK NEO!! And generic medicorp lady who always acts as people’s mothers on ch 8!! Lets not forget Rozz of course.) CHECK. Good music items? TOTALLY CHECK (video for proof later). And the list goes on..
And for the first time in forever, my entire family was there to grace the occasion – all the Yap children present!
Brothers competing in Announcer voices. HAHA.
Events of the night included:
playing with our far-far-far removed (I am unsure) little cousin Hope, and making Matthew cry because I called him KEVIN cos it was printed on his shirt, as well as the rest of the extended family gushing over SARAH the newborn – (EVIDENCE BELOW)
Btw this photo is priceless. Play spot the differences! Its pretty difficult I warn you.
Another huge part of the night shall be represented in the following photo, which might come across as rather dodgy.
But I would have to say that it characterized the rest of the events of the night.
Note the redness in the faces that shall be known as the Yap family’s Curse of Obvious Intoxication (even though we didn’t even drink that much – ok, at least Caleb and I didn’t. I shall not speak for the other two).
AND THIS IS EVIDENCE OF DAKORKOR TRYING TO BRIBE GIDEON INTO DODGY ACTIVITY. I will leave out details, but essentially Gid succumbed to Dakorkor’s chants and persuasion, which resulted in him regretting right about half an hour later. I WARNED YOU. Free flow of red wine at weddings = bad idea.

In the past semesters, my school term only officially begins when I start printing the powerpoint slides/pdf files of readings. That would be today.
I have been in NUS for 2 years and today is the first time I am using the library printer (IT IS SO MUCH CHEAPER I AM NEVER PRINTING AT HOME AGAIN WHY DID I NOT REALIZE THIS EARLIER.)
There is something veryyy self-satisfying about printing heaps of notes, arranging them, stapling them together, holding them.. even though they haven’t been read yet.
Welcome to Geekdom, otherwise known as the 6th floor of the NUS Central Library. It has begun!
New layout, new banner, etc YAY! :)
For no particular reason I decided to redo the blog on the first day of September. (Oh and speaking of RBs, Yong went ahead and actually got himself a pair in LA – have I mentioned life is unfair?)
Yeah yeah I know what you’re thinking – don’t you have SCHOOL? HOW COME YOU’RE SO FREE? And questions of similar nature. I would now assure you that I am definitely still in Uni and have not been ousted out due to my online habits, and I haven’t even missed a single class! (cue applause)
There’s just some cathartic feeling of hitting the refresh button and seeing something new turn up on the page. Okay that so did not sound weird.
In other news, today I realised I’m still growing up.
Sunday morning rain is falling.
My inspirational line from today’s sermon:
“Did God not prepare him his whole life for this very moment?”
So the point is that its only 930pm and I’m feeling really.. tired. Waking up early today and four hours of singing-your-heart-out really does tire you out. Second point is today I realised how many images from the web I’ve stored on my lovely mac, and so I’ve decided to post more of them here whenever I remember to. They are my daily musings, after all.
Sometimes it really feels like I’m holding my breath underwater. (Thank you KT Tunstall for putting nondescript emotions into apt metaphors.) But then I’m reminded, humans adapt. To survive. To get by.

Yeah, I think the picture pretty much sums up life in general. Split yourself up into a million people and ask yourself, which one is really you? From Mondays to Sundays you can turn from blonde to brunette to redhead. Then there comes a point you wonder if you are just being inconsistent and socially conformed to the different social contexts that you are in – before you realize that all these different yous make up that one person who stares back in the mirror every morning. When you do realize that, you smile. Everyone is colourful in their own right, you say.
