TONIGHT, I SEALED MY IDENTITY AS A YOUTUBE FANGIRL <3

I was never that big a fan of David Choi – I liked some of his songs and all, but twas never crazy over him like I am WONGFU & KEVJUMBA (<33) – but after watching him live tonight, I’VE BECOME A FAN!!!!

And for those people who are like HUH WHOS DAVID CHOI!? (zz)

This is David Choi:

He is a youtube singer/songwriter and probably one of the more famous ones on youtube. (+one of the more famous asian-americans on youtube) Subscribe to him here.

I really like this place other than the fact they kept coming around every 5 minutes asking us if we want to order more drinks. -.- I was on the brink of carrying out Marcus’ suggestion of WHERES YOUR MANAGER. I AM A PAYING CUSTOMER.

THE BEST DRINK IN THE WORLD. Its called Toblerone. Baileys + kahlua + milk + honey + all other sweet chocolatey amazingness.

Majority of what made me really like DChoi was that he was so funny and down to earth. AND SMALL AND CUTE. He messed up quite a few times on the high notes and he was so paiseh about it he couldn’t finish his song properly HAHA but it was really funny. + he had alot of audience interaction/Q&A. + THE CALIFORNIAN ACCENT IS ALWAYS WIN – which Geri pointed out reminded us of Andrew :’(((

Did I mention he sounds really good live? YAY. His set included WON’T EVEN START & THAT GIRL (which are the only 2 songs I know ALL the lyrics for), and a song about a girl picking her nose which I thought was really cute. YAYY.

THEN WE SAID HE SHOULD DO AN ACOUSTIC COVER OF DTTS (which I am trying to get Marcus & Geri to do) AND HE SAID THAT THEY WANT TO DO ONE BUT KEVJUMBA LIVES FAR AWAY FROM THEM. AND THEN I SAID OH WHY DONT ASK YOU ASK WES AND TED TO RAP INSTEAD AND CUT KEVJUMBA OUT. LIKE WES AND TED ARE MY FRIENDS LIKE THAT. I ACT COOL ONLY. LIKE A TRUE BLUE YOUTUBE FANGIRL.

It really was quite surreal seeing him in real life when usually I’m so used to watching him on youtube.. and he talks to you like you’re just a normal friend. SUPER FANGIRL MOMENT + TRYING TO KEEP COOL RIGHT THERE.

I was telling Geri that if Wong Fu comes to Singapore, and they have a autograph/photo session like this, I swear I’ll be too STARSTRUCK+FANGIRL+HYPERVENTILATING+DYING to even say anything. OMG.

The Tube & Asians

HOKAY! Just did some housekeeping on my blog. Updated the sidebar a little, and put my links back on. Did some clearing up and adding on of the links as well. I deleted those blogs which have been stagnant for a long while, hope you guys don’t mind. Also, if you want me to link you or UN-link you, please let me know! Your wish is my command.

The other thing I did was add in a new blogroll section called TUBE. Essentially its the links to my FAVOURITE Youtube channels (post in the making soon!). I thought I’d share them with you! My top three are definitely 1. Community Channel, Wong Fu Productions and Kevjumba. What can I say? Asian pride rears its slanty-eyed head again. Actually, 10/12 of the channel links are by Asians or mixed-asians! We are taking over the world FO SHO.

Ever since an email sent by Dakor Yap to the family declaring every 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoon as FAMILY BOARD GAME DAY (FBGD), things have gotten quite exciting around the household.

Brothers & Sisters

Remember my post on how YJ and I spent Valentine’s Day?

I don’t think how I mentioned how I found out about Orgo, and this is once again backdated to 4 months ago (yes, I’m forgetful and lazy), when we had our once-in-a-loooooong-time Brother/Sister outing – consisting of the 3 pairs of siblings. Moris, Teohs & Yaps.

Mae introduced the place to us and made the reservation, and it was pretty awesome cos our first time there and we were given the GLASS ROOM to be seated in, complete with fluffy red cushions, background music, and a beautiful view of the Singapore city skyline.

SISTERS/BROTHERS

We ordered drinks & dessert; this was the bread pudding and the souffle, I think? Honestly, the desserts were terrible. Stick to the drinks. That’s what they are known for anyway.

Every year we always take every opportunity that the 6 of us around to take a brother/sister shot. Over the years now I have quite a collection! Reminds us of how our roots I guess. When we were just kids running around together in church.. those were the wonder years :)

Happy Valentine’s Day, us!

We had dinner @ New York, New York – and tasted THE BEST BURGERS IN THE WORLD!

I would like to imagine that I felt the same gastronomical awesomeness as the gang in HIMYM when they had The Best Burger in New York.

We walked around the Esplanade Bay for awhile, witnessed the crazy CNY crowd, YJ saw the Merlion for the first time (THE IRONY HAHA the day before he flies off).

We spent most of the night @ Orgo.

(Kudos to Mae for introducing this place – and this reminds me that I haven’t even posted pictures from the last time we had a brother-sister outing LAST YEAR. Oh dear.)

Not only was the view as spectacular as the first time I was there, the place wasn’t that crowded/noisy, and there was LIVE music from below at the Esplanade Bay!

Today we had the Best Meal Ever In My Life at The Cheesecake Factory while dining on the patio of the 8th floor of Macy’s overlooking the Christmas tree and ice-skating rink.

World Famous Pumpkin Cheesecake. (INSERT FACE OF SHEER BLISS)

I really wished I could’ve brought back the cheesecake to Singapore, esp for my family cos I know they would’ve LOVED it :(

But I think I could’ve died on the patio, happy and content.

To top it off, we made someone happy today :)

There was a little girl with a Happy Birthday headband sitting at the table across us, eating with her mother and her grandmother. I decided to go over and offer to take a polaroid of the three, and then give it to her as a birthday present. They were REALLY thrilled and surprised and I felt like TEN MILLION DOLLARS for actually acting upon my impulse :)

Then the grandmother shared with us that the girl was the youngest of 11 grandchildren and it was her 7th birthday. They were going to watch The Nutcracker Ballet later on, and she said the polaroid captured three generations of females. The grandmother’s name was Claire. And so was the little girl’s :)

Aww man I love it when someone lets you into a little bit of their life through random chance encounters.

We walked out of the restaurant into the rain and Bay area cold, feeling exactly how Christmas should feel like. Receiving so much more when you give.

I just spent the past hour watching all the videos on the youtube channel and feeling all giddy and tingly with Disney magic and I just can’t get enough I’M SO EXCITED FOR THIS TO COME OUT!

Its a new TV series.. AND I’M TOTALLY HOOKED. Think High School Musical, without the unrealistic Disney cheese! Actually, think better, cos the quality of singing is like wayyyy above HSM standard. THE SINGING GIVES ME CHILLS. CHILLS YA HEAR ME.

Awesome singing/songs, pushing-daisies esque cinematography, and one cute guy = HAPPY PILLS :) :)

I highly recommend this show! 2 episodes are out already. I’ve been listening to these 2 songs from the show on repeat the entire night. Don’t Stop Believing & Take A Bow.

Bottling up

I absolutely LOVE A Beautiful Revolution. I want to keep reading it and not go to sleep, but its getting kinda late. The sun rises tomorrow, anyway. (Or maybe I shouldn’t take that forgranted). Anyhow I’ve decided since I love it so much I’m gona keep posting entries with images from there till I run out of those that I like.

I thought the picture above was relevant because it is essentially the cure to all my classmate’s problems! (Refer to this post) I guess its a cure to the world’s problems, actually.
